چکیده

acceptor/donor or Lewis acid-base (AB) terms, in regulating not only the rates of these reactions but also in determining the solubility behavior of the crystal, S,. For a considerable number of compounds, the solubilities show a general increase as the solidlliquid interfacial tensions (~sL) decrease, but despite suggestions to the contrary, the relationship between ysL and logs, should not necessarily be linear. Interfacial tensions between water and the solid surfaces of a number of sparingly soluble electrolytes have been determined by contact angle measurements by using surface tension component theory to yield the Lifshitz-van der Waals (LW) and Lewis acid-base components. The systems to be discussed will include dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD), octacalcium phosphate (OCP), hydroxyapatite (HAP), and fluorapatite (FAP). The interfacial tension values, -4.2,4.3, 10.0, and 18.5 mT m-’, respectively, were of the same order of magnitude as those calculated from crystallization and dissolution kinetics data. This paper examines the role of interfacial free energy, especially the electron

Investigation of leaching kinetics of zinc from a low-grade ore in organic and inorganic acids

The leaching kinetics of a low-grade zinc oxide ore in different acid media was investigated with respect to the experimental variables including acid concentration, temperature, liquid to solid (L/S) ratio, and stirring speed. The results obtained showed that the leaching reagent concentration and the reaction temperature exerted significant effects on the extraction of zinc, whereas the L/S r...

Non-Isothermal Dehydration Kinetics of Diphasic Mullite Precursor Gel

Aluminosilicate gel precursor having mullite composition was synthesized from inorganic salts of aluminum and silicon by employing the sol-gel method. Chemical analysis, surface area and bulk density measurements were performed to characterize the dried gel. The course of the mullitization was examined by FT-IR analysis which confirmed the diphasic nature of the gel. ...

Bile salts and calcium absorption.

1. The study of the effect of bile salts on enhancing calcium absorption in the rachitic chick has been extended to bile salts not present in chick bile, e.g. glycine conjugates and bile alcohol sulphates. 2. Bile and bile salts cause an increase in calcium absorption from sparingly soluble calcium hydrogen phosphate when compared with a suspension of calcium hydrogen phosphate in saline. 3. If...

Kinetics of chalcopyrite galvanic leaching using sulfate media at the low temperature in the GalvanoxTM process

In this research work, the dissolution of chalcopyrite was investigated under atmospheric pressure, with sulfate media at low temperatures, in 30°C to 50°C. In the galvanic interaction between chalcopyrite and pyrite, pyrite is used as a leaching catalyst. Effects of different parameters such as temperature, stirring speed, pyrite to chalcopyrite ratio, particle size, and solution potential wer...

Combinational approach using solid dispersion and semi-solid matrix technology to enhance in vitro dissolution of telmisartan

The present investigation was focused to formulate semi-solid capsules (SSCs) of hydrophobic drug telmisartan (TLMS) by encapsulating semi-solid matrix of its solid dispersion (SD) in HPMC capsules. The combinational approach was used to reduce the lag time in drug release and improvise its dissolution. SDs of TLMS was prepared using hot fusion method by varying the combinations of Pluronic-F68...
